What will lawn care software cost after the first invoice?

A low monthly plan can look expensive once a growing crew needs more logins, recurring card payments and a higher tier for a workflow you actually use. Compare the same job on the same basis before you choose.

Estimate the software and card costs

Start with people who need access

Count the owner, office staff and field workers who need a login. A five-person crew is not always five software users. Ask whether a shared crew login is permitted and practical; do not assume it is.

Jobber publishes team-size and billing choices. Tradify prices by user. Those different structures make the real user count more useful than comparing entry prices. Check the Jobber pricing page and Tradify pricing page for your setup.

Use the payment method your customers will use

For repeat mowing and maintenance, the method used to collect each invoice matters. A card-reader rate does not necessarily apply when you charge a saved card.

Housecall Pro's published US payment guide lists 2.59% for standard cards collected with a reader or Tap to Pay, 2.99% for standard online invoice payments, and 3.49% for saved or manually entered cards. Amex and commercial cards are 3.49% through any method. Tap to Pay adds $5 per active device per month. See the payment-method fee table.

Ask for a quote that survives the busy season

Put two real quotes beside each other

Compare 12 months of subscription, add-ons, payment fees and one-time setup. Then test one recurring job, one reschedule and one customer payment. The lowest total only helps if the chosen plan handles the work.
