Software changed. What should you do next?

A model retirement, new feature or policy change needs an operational check. Start with the effect on one real workflow, then decide whether cost or renewal timing also needs attention.

This is a planning checklist. Use the vendor's current instructions for the actual migration, account access and security settings.

A change checklist you can reuse

Confirm the scope. Save the exact announcement and date. Check whether it applies to your plan, region, account, model or integration. Separate the announcement date from the effective deadline.
Name what depends on it. List the workflow, users, automations, permissions and saved configuration involved. Assign a person to check each dependency. Do not put passwords or private customer data in a shared checklist.
Test a representative task. Keep a record of the current result, then try the proposed replacement on the same task. Compare quality, time, cost, failures and any manual repair. Availability alone does not prove suitability.
Plan the change and a fallback. Record the owner, decision date, vendor migration steps, reversible configuration and fallback where available. Confirm exports and recovery steps before changing anything that cannot easily be undone.
Verify after the switch. Check the actual workflow with its owner, record failures and confirm that old integrations or permissions are handled. Revisit the cost and value assessment after real use.
