The short answerHousecall Pro is cheaper at 3 users, level with Jobber at 8 on annual billing, and Jobber is cheaper at 15.
At 3 users Housecall Pro Essentials ($149 billed annually) undercuts Jobber Connect ($157) and Grow ($207). At 8 users Housecall Pro Max and Jobber Grow both come to $299 billed annually, so the tiebreaker is features and card fees (on monthly billing Housecall Pro's $329 beats Jobber Grow's $386). At 15 users Jobber Grow ($399) is $145 a month below Housecall Pro Max ($544). Card processing can move the total more than the subscription gap does.
Cost at 3 usersA 3-person shop
Jobber sells per plan with one user included, so the rest of the crew is added at $29 each. Housecall Pro Essentials includes 5 users.
| 3 users, per month | Billed annually | 1-year, billed monthly | No commitment | How we got it |
|---|
| Jobber Connect | $157 | $177 | $197 | 1 user included plus 2 extra at $29 each |
|---|
| Jobber Grow | $207 | $227 | $257 | 1 user included plus 2 extra at $29 each |
|---|
| Housecall Pro Essentials | $149 | not offered | $189 | 5 users included (monthly billing = $189) |
|---|
Jobber Core ($29 to $49) and Housecall Pro Basic ($59 to $79) include one user and do not publish an add-user price, so they are left out of the 3-user line. Totals are Worthd's arithmetic from the vendors' published prices.
Cost at 8 usersAn 8-person shop
| 8 users, per month | Billed annually | 1-year, billed monthly | No commitment | How we got it |
|---|
| Jobber Grow | $299 | $346 | $386 | Cheapest of the 10-user tier or the 5-user tier plus extras |
|---|
| Jobber Plus | $449 | $499 | $586 | Cheapest of the 10-user tier or the 5-user tier plus extras |
|---|
| Housecall Pro Max | $299 | not offered | $329 | 8 users included |
|---|
Jobber Connect is not shown at 8 or 15 users: Worthd could not confirm its multi-user prices. Housecall Pro Max includes exactly 8 users, which is why it is a clean fit here.
Cost at 15 usersA 15-person shop
| 15 users, per month | Billed annually | 1-year, billed monthly | No commitment | How we got it |
|---|
| Jobber Grow | $399 | $429 | $499 | 15-user tier |
|---|
| Jobber Plus | $529 | $599 | $699 | 15-user tier |
|---|
| Housecall Pro Max | $544 | not offered | $574 | 8 users included plus 7 extra at $35 each (annual $299, monthly $329) |
|---|
At this size Jobber's published 15-user tier undercuts Housecall Pro's extra-user pricing. Housecall Pro does not publish a plan above Max on its pricing page.
What the headline price leaves outCard fees, extra users and add-ons
| Payment processing | Jobber | Housecall Pro |
|---|
| Card | 2.9% + 30c | "As low as 2.59%"; exact rate by card type and any per-transaction fee are not published |
|---|
| Bank (ACH) | 1% | 1% |
|---|
| Tap to Pay / mobile | 2.7% + 30c | Not published |
|---|
| Extra user | $29 a month (Connect, Grow, Plus) | $35 a month (Max); not published for Basic or Essentials |
|---|
| Paid add-ons | Marketing Suite $99, Pipeline $49, Receptionist $29 a month | Not published on the pricing page |
|---|
Worked example (illustration only): a shop that collects $20,000 a month by card across 40 invoices pays Jobber about $592 (2.9% = $580, plus 40 x 30c = $12). At Housecall Pro's lowest published rate of 2.59% it would pay about $518 before any per-transaction fee, which the vendor does not publish. That is roughly a $74 monthly gap, about as much as the whole subscription difference at 8 users. Ask each vendor for your exact rate before you decide. Moving customers to bank payments at 1% cuts the fee on either tool.
Contract termsWhat you commit to
Jobber prices every plan three ways: no commitment, a 1-year commitment billed monthly, or billed annually. The annual price is the lowest, and the gap between no commitment and annual is $20 to $170 a month depending on plan and team size. Housecall Pro shows monthly and annual billing. It also showed first-month and 3-month promotional prices on Oct 4 that will change, so compare the regular price. Both offer a 14-day trial with no card. Cancellation and refund terms are not on either pricing page: read the vendor's terms before you sign a year.
Switching effortPlan for the move before you pay for a year
Moving between the two means re-entering or importing your client list, recurring jobs, price book and open quotes, and re-pointing card processing. Worthd has no verified switching time for these two tools, so we do not quote one. Use the 14-day trials to import a copy of your real client list and run a week of jobs before you commit annually.
When Jobber may not fitSkip Jobber if you want the lowest price for a 3 to 5 person crew on monthly billing and do not want to pay $29 for every added person. Check whether Marketing Suite, Pipeline or Receptionist are needed: each adds $29 to $99 a month.
When Housecall Pro may not fitSkip Housecall Pro if you will grow past 8 users: every extra Max user is $35 a month, and at 15 users it costs $145 a month more than Jobber Grow. Also be cautious if card processing is your biggest cost, because the exact card rate is not published.
