The short answer

A 3-person crew pays $149 a month on Essentials billed annually. An 8-person crew pays $299 on Max.

Housecall Pro sets the plan by headcount: Basic includes 1 user, Essentials 5 and Max 8. Only Max publishes an extra-user price ($35 a month), so 15 users on Max is $544 a month billed annually. Card processing is separate, from 2.59% to 3.49% depending on how the customer pays.

$10,000 a month collected by card

The fee depends on how each customer pays: $259 if every payment goes through the card reader, $299 if every customer pays an online invoice, $349 if staff key every card in, and $100 by bank transfer. Moving $3,000 a month from keyed-in cards to bank transfer saves about $75 a month. Your mix will differ: this shows how to check, not what you will pay.

Who it fits

Housecall Pro suits a 1 to 8 person trades crew that wants scheduling, dispatch, invoicing and payments in one app, and that can steer customers to the card reader or an online invoice.

Who it may not fit

Crews that will pass 8 users (every extra Max user is $35 a month and 15 users costs $145 more than Jobber Grow), shops that mostly key cards in or take Amex at 3.49%, and anyone who wants a written export and notice-period promise before signing.

Frequently asked

Housecall Pro pricing questions

How much does Housecall Pro cost per month?

Housecall Pro lists Basic at $59 a month billed annually ($79 billed monthly) for 1 user, Essentials at $149 ($189) for 5 users and Max at $299 ($329) for 8 users. Card processing and add-ons are extra.

How much does Housecall Pro cost for 3 technicians?

Basic includes one user, so 3 technicians need Essentials: $149 a month billed annually or $189 billed monthly. Essentials includes 5 users, so an office person fits without extra seats.

How much does Housecall Pro cost per extra user?

Housecall Pro publishes $35 a month per extra user on Max, which includes 8. It does not publish an extra-user price for Basic or Essentials, so ask sales before planning to go past 1 or 5 users on those plans.

Does Housecall Pro have a free trial?

Yes. The pricing page lists a 14-day trial with no credit card and full access to Max. Data is kept if the trial expires and you can resume by adding billing information.

What are Housecall Pro's card processing fees?

2.59% on the card reader or Tap to Pay, 2.99% when the customer pays an online invoice, 3.49% when staff key the card in or it is saved on file, and 3.49% for American Express and commercial cards. Bank transfer is 1%. Housecall Pro's article lists no fixed per-transaction fee.

Is Housecall Pro cheaper than Jobber?

At 3 users Housecall Pro Essentials ($149 annual) equals Jobber Connect on the 5-user tier ($149). At 8 users Housecall Pro Max and Jobber Grow are both $299 annual. At 15 users Max is $544 against $399 for Jobber Grow. Worthd arithmetic from both vendors' published prices.

Can I cancel Housecall Pro any time?

The pricing page says there are no long-term contracts and you can cancel any time, but the terms say subscriptions renew automatically and subscription fees are not prorated or refunded. Downgrades apply at the end of the billing period.
