The short answer

Jobber Connect for 5 users plus QuickBooks Online Simple Start is $187 a month ($2,244 a year). Jobber Bookkeeping adds at least $149 a month on top of Jobber, which makes the same shop $298 a month, $111 more.

Jobber Connect with 5 users is $149 a month on annual billing. QuickBooks Online Simple Start lists at $38. Jobber Bookkeeping starts at $149 and is a managed service with a bookkeeper, not software you run yourself. Xero's Growing plan, $59, would make the pair $208, but Jobber's own pages disagree on whether a Xero sync exists.

Per month and per year

What each setup costs a 5-user Jobber shop

SetupJobber Connect, 5 users (annual billing)BooksPer monthPer year
QuickBooks Online Simple Start$149$38$187$2,244
QuickBooks Online Essentials$149$85$234$2,808
QuickBooks Online Plus$149$140$289$3,468
Xero Growing (sync unconfirmed)$149$59$208$2,496
Jobber Bookkeeping, from$149$149$298$3,576

Worthd arithmetic from published list prices, before tax, promotions and add-ons. Jobber Connect with 5 users is $199 a month with no commitment, $169 on a 1-year commitment and $149 billed annually; add $50 or $20 a month per row on those terms. Jobber Bookkeeping's $149 is a starting price that depends on annual revenue, so a busier shop pays more.

First year with the intro offers

The promos shrink year one, not year two

QuickBooks lists Simple Start at 50% off for 3 months: 3 x $19 + 9 x $38 = $399 in year one, against $456 at list. Xero lists 80% off the first 3 months for new US customers, which takes Growing to $11.80 a month: 3 x $11.80 + 9 x $59 = $566.40 against $708. Both offers can be changed or withdrawn, neither covers add-ons, and QuickBooks' page did not show the price after the promo in the text Worthd read, so the struck-through list price is the figure used above.

What Jobber's sync carries

Sync limits that decide the choice

  • QuickBooks Online only, one way. Clients, products and services, approved timesheets, invoices, payments, refunds, tips and payouts go from Jobber into QuickBooks. Jobber's page says edits to shared items belong in Jobber, not QuickBooks.
  • Connect or higher. Core has no sync, so a shop that stays on Core to save money pays for the books by hand.
  • No QuickBooks Desktop. Jobber states it does not sync to Desktop. Desktop users can only import a CSV once.
  • US editions that work: Simple Start, Essentials, Plus and Advanced.
  • Xero is unresolved. Jobber's pricing page lists "QuickBooks Online and Xero sync" without a plan; its QuickBooks sync page and FAQ name only QuickBooks Online. Get the answer in writing before you move books to Xero.
Xero by the numbers

Why Early does not fit a trades shop

Xero's US plans list at $27 (Early), $59 (Growing) and $97 (Established) a month. Early allows 20 invoices and quotes and 5 bills a month, a limit a shop invoicing each finished job passes in the first week. Xero has no per-user fee, which is its edge over QuickBooks' user caps (1, 3 and 5 on the three lower plans). Xero's payroll add-on is $36 a month plus $6 per employee or contractor. Xero bills monthly and renews monthly until cancelled.

Jobber Bookkeeping

What the extra $111 a month buys

Jobber describes it as bookkeeping with a dedicated Jobber bookkeeper: books closed within five days of month-end, monthly reports and a business review, plus catch-up work for up to 24 months of backlog. It can sit on any Jobber plan, and your accountant still files taxes from the annual packet it provides. Jobber's page gives no contract length or cancellation terms. Compare the $1,332 a year over software alone with what a local bookkeeper quotes you for the same monthly close.

Who each is wrong for

Rule it out if

  • QuickBooks Online: you stay on Jobber Core (no sync), or you run QuickBooks Desktop (no sync at all).
  • Xero: you need the Jobber sync and Jobber cannot confirm it for Xero.
  • Jobber Bookkeeping: your books are current and you only need invoices and payments posted, which the QuickBooks sync does for $38 a month.
Questions owners ask

FAQ

Does Jobber sync with Xero?

Jobber's pricing page lists 'QuickBooks Online and Xero sync' under integrations, but Jobber's QuickBooks sync page and its pricing FAQ describe only QuickBooks Online. Worthd could not confirm a Xero sync from Jobber's own pages on Oct 11, 2026, so ask Jobber support in writing before you pick Xero.

Which Jobber plans include the QuickBooks Online sync?

Connect and up (Connect, Grow, Plus). Core does not include it. The sync is one-way, from Jobber into QuickBooks Online.

Does Jobber sync to QuickBooks Desktop?

No. Jobber's page says it does not sync to QuickBooks Desktop; Desktop data can only come in by a one-time CSV import.

What does Jobber Bookkeeping cost?

Jobber lists it from $149 a month, priced on your annual revenue, as a separate subscription on top of your Jobber plan, with catch-up work for backlogged books charged once. Jobber's page states no contract length or cancellation terms.

Is Xero's Early plan enough for a trades shop?

Xero lists Early at $27 a month with 20 invoices and quotes and 5 bills a month. A 5-tech shop that invoices every completed job will pass 20 quickly, so the next plan, Growing at $59, is the realistic starting point.

How many QuickBooks Online users does a small shop need?

Simple Start lists 1 user, Essentials 3 and Plus 5, each with access for 2 accountants. Most owners who let Jobber create the invoices and have a bookkeeper review the books fit in Simple Start or Essentials.

What was not verified

Jobber Bookkeeping's contract terms and what revenue bands move the price above $149 are not on its page. QuickBooks' post-promo price footnote was not captured, Xero's page states no user limit, and Worthd did not price a local bookkeeper or QuickBooks' payroll. No promotion is counted in the monthly tables.
