The short answer

With job costing on both, a 5-person crew pays $1,788 a year on ServiceM8 Premium and $2,748 on Jobber Grow, until it opens more than 500 new jobs a month.

ServiceM8 paid plans have unlimited users, so the bill follows your job count: $948 a year covers up to 150 new jobs a month. Jobber follows your headcount: $1,788 a year for 5 users on Connect. Past 500 jobs a month ServiceM8 moves to $4,188 a year, which is $1,440 more than Jobber Grow at 5 users. Jobber has the lower card rate (2.9% against 3.05%) and a published 1% bank-payment rate.

Jobber monthly prices are the cheapest annual-billing combination of its published bundles plus $29 for each user past the bundle (2 users: 1-user price + 1 extra; 8 users: the 10-user bundle), from Worthd's Jobber page, re-read on Jobber's pricing page Nov 3, 2026. ServiceM8 prices are monthly, unlimited users on every paid plan, so each plan shows one yearly figure (monthly x 12). ServiceM8 publishes no annual discount. Totals are Worthd arithmetic.

Job costing is on Jobber Grow and on ServiceM8 Premium ($149), so the 300-job row is the like-for-like one; at 100 jobs ServiceM8 Growing has proposals and forms but not job costing. ServiceM8 counts every new job card as one job, and the pricing page does not say whether accepting a quote uses another. Its pricing page does not say whether recurring visits to the same customer each use a credit, so ask before sizing a route business.

Going over is not a hard stop: you can keep creating jobs for another 7 days, then you are prompted to upgrade. Only Premium Plus prints an overage price (20c a job over 1,500).

Worked example (illustration only): $10,000 a month in 40 card invoices costs about $302 on Jobber (2.9% = $290, plus 40 x 30c = $12) and $317 on ServiceM8 Pay (3.05% = $305, plus $12): $15 a month, $180 a year. The fee gap is small next to the $960 a year subscription gap at 5 users and 300 jobs. Jobber ACH on the same $10,000 would be $100. The ServiceM8 rate is from its help page, which says US fees are current as of September 2024; confirm in your account.
Choose ServiceM8 when

You open fewer than about 500 new jobs a month, have several people who need a login (office, techs, a part-timer), and want a plan you can change later (its pricing page prints monthly prices only and no contract term, so ask for the term in writing). Compare its plan table and job rules.

Choose Jobber when

You open many small jobs (past 500 a month the ServiceM8 plan jumps to $349), you want the bank-payment rate printed at 1%, or you want the QuickBooks Online sync on a Connect plan. See Jobber pricing for 1 to 15 users.

Who this should not decide for you

What this page does not cover

Feature depth beyond job costing is not compared line by line. ServiceM8 publishes no annual price, no ACH rate and no cancellation terms on the pages read, and its US card rate comes from a help page dated September 2024. Switching either way means moving clients, price lists and recurring jobs. Compare more tools on HVAC dispatch software cost or the software price tracker.
