How a job is countedThe unit is the new job card
Per ServiceM8's pricing FAQ, every new job card uses one job credit. A job can start as a quote or a work order, and turning an accepted quote into a work order does not use a second credit.
Going over is not a hard stop: you can keep creating jobs for another 7 days, and if the plan has not reset by then you are prompted to upgrade. Only Premium Plus prints an overage price (20c per job); the other plans show a dash.
The pages do not say whether recurring visits to the same customer each use a credit, so ask before you size a plan for a route business.

ServiceM8 paid plans (Starter $29, Growing $79, Premium $149, Premium Plus $349) have unlimited users, so the plan depends on how many new jobs you open a month and which features you need, not on headcount. Worthd's job-allowance illustrations, not feature-equivalent quotes: 100 jobs a month fits Growing at $79, against $229 a month for Jobber Grow for 3 users billed annually ($150 a month, $1,800 a year, more than ServiceM8 Growing) and $149 for Housecall Pro Essentials ($70 more). 400 jobs a month fits Premium at $149, against $299 for Jobber Grow at 8 users and for Housecall Pro Max.
A shop opening 1,000 jobs a month would be on Premium Plus at $349. These are selected plans with different features. Jobber, Housecall Pro and Contractor Foreman use annual-plan monthly equivalents; Tradify uses its displayed monthly price. Contractor Foreman's headline figures are rounded.
Housecall Pro's 15-user $544 is Worthd's $299 + 7 x $35 calculation. ServiceM8 job costing starts on Premium. Competitor figures are from Jobber, Housecall Pro, Tradify and Contractor Foreman pricing pages.

Before you sign: ask what the card rate is on your volume, how many texts a plan includes, and whether repeat visits count as new jobs. Card rates are not on the pricing page; see
contractor payment software fees.
Who it fitsCrews of any size that open a modest number of jobs a month and would rather not pay for each added tech or office user: paid plans have unlimited users, so a 15-person crew opening 50 jobs a month can be on Starter at $29. Billing is monthly with no lock-in, so a seasonal shop can drop a plan in a slow month.
Who it may not fitHigh-volume shops past 1,500 jobs a month, anyone who needs job costing but not 500 jobs (it starts at $149), and owners who want the card rate and cancellation terms in writing before a trial.
Frequently askedServiceM8 pricing questions
How much does ServiceM8 cost per month?
ServiceM8's pricing page lists Free at $0 (1 user, 30 jobs a month), Starter $29 (50 jobs), Growing $79 (150 jobs), Premium $149 (500 jobs) and Premium Plus $349 (1,500 jobs, then 20c per job). Paid plans have unlimited users. Checked Oct 22, 2026.
Does ServiceM8 charge per user?
No. ServiceM8's help center says paid plans use plan-based pricing, not per-user pricing. The plan depends on new-job allowance and features, not paid-user count. A 3-person and a 15-person shop pay the same when they choose the same plan.
What counts as a job on ServiceM8?
Its pricing FAQ says every time you create a new job card it uses a job credit. Jobs can start as a quote or a work order, and changing an accepted quote to a work order does not use another credit.
What happens if I go over my ServiceM8 job limit?
The FAQ says you can keep creating jobs for another 7 days. If your monthly plan resets in that time the credits reset; otherwise you are prompted to upgrade. Only Premium Plus lists an overage price, 20c per job.
Is ServiceM8 a contract?
The pricing page says there are no lock-ins and that you can upgrade or downgrade at any time, with prior credit applied pro rata. The help center says paid plans are billed monthly. Worthd did not find cancellation terms or an annual price on either page.
Is there a ServiceM8 free trial?
Yes: 14 days of the core product with no card required, per the pricing page on Oct 22, 2026. The Free plan is limited to 1 user and 30 jobs a month.
Which ServiceM8 plan has job costing?
Premium at $149 a month, per the plan comparison table. Proposals, asset management, electronic forms, bundles and inbox start on Growing at $79. Pre-made forms from the Form Store can be bought on any plan, including Free; building your own forms or hiring a Partner for custom forms needs Growing or higher.
