Short answerBILL charges $49, $65 or $89 per user a month, plus transaction fees for methods such as bank-funded ACH ($0.59) and mailed checks ($1.99). A 3-person office on Team pays $195 a month before a single payment goes out.
Every user is a paid user on Essentials and Team, so the subscription grows with headcount; payments add on top. An office manager on Essentials who pays 20 subcontractors a month by ACH pays $49 + 20 x $0.59 = $60.80 a month, or $729.60 a year. The subscription is the floor of the bill, not the total.
Best forWhere it works well
A contractor with a bookkeeper or office manager who pays many subcontractors and suppliers every month and wants approvals, a paper trail and accounting sync. At $0.59 an ACH against a $1.99 check, the per-payment fee falls as you move vendors off checks.
May not fitWho should look elsewhere
An owner who pays a handful of bills a month: at $49 a user the fixed cost can outweigh what it saves. A shop that mainly needs to get paid by customers should compare the payment fees in contractor payment software fees first.

Essentials accounting integration and payment-fee exceptions rechecked Nov 1, 2026; CSV is an integration method, not a restriction on receivables features. BILL's own FAQ says the overall cost depends on your plan, number of users and payment volume.

Worthd arithmetic: users x the per-user price, per month, before tax and before payment fees. Every user is counted at the full seat price; Corporate's lower-cost approver-only users would reduce its figures, but BILL does not publish that price.

Getting paidA $5,000 invoice: ACH $0.59, card $145
When a customer pays you through BILL, a $5,000 invoice costs $0.59 by ACH and $145 by credit or debit card (2.9%). An instant transfer to your bank at 1.25% would be $62.50. For comparison, Jobber charges 1% on a bank payment, which is $50 on the same invoice. The same $5,000 on a card is about 246 times the ACH transaction fee. Subscription and other account charges are additional.
