Worthd cost check for lawn care businesses

The cheapest scheduling software for a 2-person lawn care crew, with the limits that change the bill

You plus one helper, one truck, about 30 weekly mowing accounts. What scheduling and invoicing cost for two people, and the user, job and route limits that decide which plan you need.

Prices checked Oct 28 to 29, 2026Reviewed by Worthd EditorialUS list prices, per monthUpdated Oct 29, 2026
The short answer

For two people, the cheapest published plan is LawnPro Startup at $29 a month billed annually: $348 a year for 3 logins.

Free plans do not cover a crew: LawnPro Solo and ServiceM8 Free are one user each. At about 30 weekly accounts (roughly 130 jobs a month) the yearly software bill runs from $348 (LawnPro) to $1,788 (Housecall Pro Essentials), and ServiceM8 is $948 because its $29 Starter stops at 50 jobs a month. Card fees then add about $2,000 to $2,700 a year on $6,500 a month where a rate is printed (Housecall Pro, Jobber), more than the software on either plan.

Annual means prepaid for the year. Where a vendor publishes no annual price, only the monthly one is shown. GorillaDesk was last read Oct 23. Jobber figures are from Worthd's Jobber pricing page; Jobber's new-customer promo ends Oct 30, 2026 and is not in this table.

Why crew size is not the cost driver

Users, jobs and routes each set a different limit

ServiceM8 charges by jobs, GorillaDesk by routes, Jobber and Housecall Pro by users. About 30 weekly accounts is roughly 130 jobs a month (30 x 4.33), so ServiceM8 Starter's 50 jobs fits only about 11 weekly accounts. One truck is one GorillaDesk route whatever the headcount. Housecall Pro's Basic lists no add-user price, so a second login means Essentials, $90 a month more.

Worthd arithmetic

A worked year: 30 weekly accounts, 130 jobs a month, $6,500 a month in card payments

Yearly software cost for a two-person lawn care business
Tool and planSoftware a yearHow
LawnPro Startup$348$29 x 12
GorillaDesk Basic$539$49 x 11 months (the annual toggle advertises one month free; the amount is not printed, so this is Worthd arithmetic)
Jobber Core + 1 user$696($29 + $29) x 12
ServiceM8 Growing$948$79 x 12, monthly billing (130 jobs is over the 50 on Starter)
Housecall Pro Essentials$1,788$149 x 12
Service Autopilot Pro$2,388 + sign-up fee$199 x 12

Card fees where the vendor prints a rate. Jobber at 2.9% + 30c on 130 payments is $188.50 + $39 = $227.50 a month, about $2,730 a year. Housecall Pro at its lowest published rate, 2.59%, is $168.35 a month, about $2,020 a year. By bank transfer both charge 1%: $65 a month, $780 a year. LawnPro, ServiceM8, GorillaDesk and Service Autopilot do not print card rates on their pricing pages, so ask before you sign.

The processor rate moves the bill more than the software choice does. Get each vendor's card rate in writing before you compare. Moving payments to bank transfer: how much that saves.

Not for everyone

Who this page is wrong for

Crews with a third person soon: Jobber's 5-user tier or Housecall Pro Essentials' 5 seats start to fit, so use lawn care software cost for 2, 5 and 10 person crews. Shops that need route optimization or chemical application records (not checked here), and anyone paid mostly by cash or check, where card fees do not apply. Worthd has no referral arrangement with LawnPro, ServiceM8, GorillaDesk, Housecall Pro or Service Autopilot, so none has a button here.
