Worthd cost check for electrical contractors

Electrician software cost: what a 3-person shop pays

Six tools priced from their own pages for an owner plus two electricians: service-call apps (Jobber, Housecall Pro, Service Fusion, Kickserv) and contract job-costing apps (Knowify, Projul), plus the estimating software none of them include.

Prices checked Nov 5 and 6, 2026Reviewed by Worthd EditorialUS dollars, plan fee onlyUpdated Nov 6, 2026
The short answer

For 3 people, a service-call app costs $60 to $208 a month and a contract job-costing app $157 to $249 (Knowify and Projul). Add $1,999.95 once if you want a dedicated electrical estimating program.

Housecall Pro Essentials and Jobber Connect are both $149 a month billed annually ($1,788 a year) for 3 people. Kickserv Start is $60 a month for up to 5 users. Knowify and Projul cost more because they add job costing for bid work. Plan fees only, before card fees and tax.

Worthd arithmetic from each vendor's pricing page. Jobber (getjobber.com/pricing, Nov 6): Connect 1 user $99 and 5 users $149 billed annually, $139 and $199 with no commitment, "Add users for $29/mo each". Housecall Pro: Essentials $149 annual, $189 monthly, 5 users (Worthd's Housecall Pro page, rechecked Nov 5). Kickserv (kickserv.com/pricing, Nov 6): Start $60 a month, 5 users, 30-day trial, annual billing "Save 20%" with no dollar amount, extra-user fee not printed. Service Fusion (servicefusion.com/pricing, Nov 6): Starter $208 a month billed annually, $245 monthly, "unlimited users", all plans month-to-month, 15% annual discount. Knowify (knowify.com/pricing, Nov 6): Core prints "$99 / month" and "$149 / month" beside a Yearly/Monthly toggle without saying which is which; Worthd reads the lower as yearly, so treat both as inferred. Projul (projul.com/pricing, Nov 6): the page prints "billed annually at $2,388" for Starter, which confirms $199 as the annual rate.

Estimating software is billed separately

None of the service-call apps above is an electrical estimating program. Best Bid Electrical Estimating (bestbidestimating.com/pricing, copyright 2024, checked Nov 5) sells Hybrid Pro as a $1,999.95 one-time license and Next Generation at $2,500.00, with an optional Real Time Pricing feed at $33 a month after its free trial. Paired with a $149 plan, the first year is $1,788 + $1,999.95 = $3,787.95, or $4,183.95 with the $396 feed. With Kickserv Start at $60 a month it is $720 + $1,999.95 = $2,719.95. Best Bid also prints a $500-down, $100-a-month-for-15-months option on Hybrid Pro, which is $2,000 in total before any trial or fees. Knowify and Projul fold estimating into their job costing plans.

Who it fits

Mostly service calls, quotes and invoices: Kickserv Start at $60, Housecall Pro Essentials or Jobber Connect at $149, all with 5 users. Jobber's electrician page lists surge protection, dedicated circuit installs, panel upgrades and safety inspections as line items and offers invoicing by job milestone. Bidding contract jobs with phases: Knowify from $99 or Projul from $199 include job costing and estimating, so you skip the $1,999.95 program. Want to avoid per-user math: Service Fusion has unlimited users, at $208 a month.

Who it is wrong for

Projul Starter for a fourth person, since it stops at 3 users and the next plan is $399 a month annually. Knowify Core for a crew that only dispatches service calls: you pay for job costing you may not use. Service Fusion for a solo electrician, where $208 is more than twice Jobber Core at $29 or Housecall Pro Basic at $59. Anyone who needs Electric Ease, TurboBid or Red Rhino prices: those pages could not be read, so they are not in the table.

Ranges you will see elsewhere

Search results show "$50-$150 a month" and "$200-$600 for a 5-tech shop" for electrician software, without naming plans, and one source lists Jobber Core at $49, which is the no-commitment price; billed annually it is $29. For 3 people the plan fees above run $720 to $2,988 a year, and a Jobber Connect year of $1,788 plus card fees on $4,000 a month is $3,252.

Frequently asked

Electrician software questions

What does electrician software cost for a 3-person shop?

From vendor pages checked Nov 5 and 6, 2026, list prices for 3 people: Kickserv Start $60 a month (5 users, monthly price), Housecall Pro Essentials $149 and Jobber Connect $149 (both billed annually), Service Fusion Starter $208 billed annually ($245 monthly, unlimited users), Projul Starter $199 billed annually ($249 monthly, up to 3 users). Knowify Core is from $99 a month plus $29 for each user after the first, which is $157 for 3 people if the lower price is the yearly one (the page does not label it).

Is estimating software included?

Usually not. Best Bid Electrical Estimating sells a one-time license at $1,999.95 for Hybrid Pro, plus an optional Real Time Pricing feed at $33 a month after its trial. Paired with a $149 field service plan, the first year is $1,788 + $1,999.95 = $3,787.95, or $4,183.95 with the feed. Knowify and Projul include estimating inside their job costing plans.

Should an electrician pick a field service tool or a job costing tool?

If most work is service calls, quotes and invoices, the field service plans at $60 to $208 a month for 3 people fit. If you bid contract jobs with phases and progress billing, Knowify and Projul are built for that and start at $99 and $199 a month. Jobber names progress invoicing by job milestone on its electrician page, so check whether that covers your contracts before paying more.

Do these tools charge extra for card payments?

Yes, separately from the plan. Jobber charges 2.9% plus 30 cents per card payment. Housecall Pro advertises card rates from 2.59%. On $4,000 a month in 20 card payments, Jobber's fees are $122 a month, $1,464 a year, which is 82% of a $1,788 Jobber Connect year. Knowify uses QuickBooks Payments and does not print its rates; Projul and Service Fusion do not print theirs on the pricing page.

Is there a free trial?

Jobber and Housecall Pro: 14 days, no card. Kickserv: 30 days. Knowify: a 14-day trial with no card, per its electrical page. Projul and Service Fusion do not print a trial length on their pricing pages (Service Fusion offers a demo).
