Worthd cost check for pool service routes

Pool service software cost: what 1, 2 and 3 techs pay

Skimmer, PoolTrac and Jobber priced from their own pages for a 40, 90 and 140 pool route, with the card-fee line and the winter months that most price lists leave out.

The short answer

A 40-pool route pays $480 a year on PoolTrac, $588 on Skimmer or $1,188 on Jobber Connect. At 140 pools it is $1,680, $3,360 and $1,788.

The pool-specific tools bill by the pool, so the bill grows with the route and shrinks in winter. Jobber bills by the seat, so it is the most expensive at one tech and stays $1,788 at 90 and 140 pools. Card fees are the bigger swing: on 140 pools paid by card they run $651 a month on Jobber, more than any subscription here.

Worthd arithmetic from each vendor's pricing page, Nov 4, 2026, before card fees and tax. Pool counts are Worthd's assumption of one route per tech; replace them with yours. Skimmer: $1.00 per serviced location with a $49 monthly floor and 0-49 pools on Getting Started; Scaling Up is $98 including 49 locations plus $2.00 for each location past 49, so 90 pools is $98 + 41 x $2 = $180 and 140 pools is $98 + 91 x $2 = $280. PoolTrac: $1 per visited location, minimum $30 a month, unlimited users. Jobber figures are from Worthd's Jobber pricing page: Connect $99 for 1 user and $149 for up to 5, Grow $149 and $229, billed annually. Skimmer's first month on Scaling Up is free for new users.

What the by-the-pool tools leave out

The card-fee line is bigger than the software

Assume each pool pays $150 a month, one payment each (Worthd's assumption, so replace it with your own). That is $6,000 a month at 40 pools, $13,500 at 90 and $21,000 at 140. On Jobber, card payments at 2.9% + 30 cents cost $186, $418.50 and $651 a month; bank payments at 1% cost $60, $135 and $210. The card-versus-bank gap is $126, $283.50 and $441 a month, which is $5,292 a year at 140 pools and more than the whole Jobber Connect subscription. Skimmer and PoolTrac do not print card processing rates on their pricing pages, so Worthd cannot compare their fees; ask for them in writing. More on shifting payments: getting paid by bank transfer and contractor payment software fees.

Season test

Winter changes the bill on the by-the-pool tools only

Skimmer says locations not serviced in a month are not billed, and PoolTrac bills per visited location. Suppose the 90-pool route services all 90 for 9 months and 30 for 3 winter months (Worthd's assumption). PoolTrac: 9 x $90 + 3 x $30 = $900 a year, against $1,080 all year. Skimmer: 9 x $180 + 3 x $49 = $1,767, against $2,160, if the $49 tier applies when a month has under 50 serviced pools (its tiers are written as pools per month, so confirm this with Skimmer). Jobber Connect stays $1,788 because it bills seats, not pools.

What each page prints

Users, trials and add-ons

Skimmer: unlimited techs and admins; 30 days risk-free with a refund requested in the first 30 days; Service Texts $0.029 a message on Getting Started and included on Scaling Up; CRM integrations $49 a month and Google Calendar $25 on both; AI Phone $99, Marketing Suite $150 and Bookkeeping from $198 a month. PoolTrac: unlimited users; 30-day trial, no credit card; QuickBooks Online and route optimization listed as included; contract and processing rates are not on the page. Jobber: $29 a month for each user past the bundle; 14-day Grow trial. Pool Brain: trial button with no length printed.

What to ask before signing

Four answers that are not on the pricing pages

Skimmer: the card rate and whether a low-count month drops to $49. PoolTrac: the contract term, cancellation and card rate (its page sends you to sales). Pool Brain: the base monthly fee and whether a 3-tech route can use fewer than 5 technician seats. Jobber: whether the route features you need sit in Connect or Grow, since Grow adds $50 to $80 a month at these sizes.

Who it fits

A 20 to 60 pool owner-operator who wants the lowest bill and runs a seasonal route: PoolTrac or Skimmer, billed by the pool. A route growing past 100 pools with 2 to 3 techs who also does quotes, repairs and other trades work: Jobber at $1,788 a year is flat while the by-the-pool tools keep rising.

Who it is wrong for

Jobber for a one-tech 40-pool route that only needs route and chemical logging: it costs $1,188 a year against $480 to $588. Skimmer at 140 pools if seats would cost less: $3,360 against $1,788. Pool Brain for anyone who needs a number before a sales call.

Frequently asked

Pool service software questions

What does pool service software cost for a small route?

From vendor pages on Nov 4, 2026: Skimmer bills $1 per serviced pool with a $49 monthly floor on Getting Started (0-49 pools) and $98 plus $2 per pool past 49 on Scaling Up. PoolTrac bills $1 per visited location with a $30 monthly minimum. Jobber Connect is $99 a month for 1 user and $149 for up to 5, billed annually. For a 40-pool, 1-tech route that is $588, $480 and $1,188 a year; for a 140-pool, 3-tech route $3,360, $1,680 and $1,788.

Is Skimmer or PoolTrac cheaper?

On printed list prices PoolTrac is cheaper at every route size here: $40 against $49 at 40 pools, $90 against $180 at 90 pools and $140 against $280 at 140 pools a month. Skimmer's page lists texts, AI phone, marketing and bookkeeping as add-ons or included tiers, while PoolTrac's page lists QuickBooks Online and route optimization as included. Neither page prints card processing rates.

What does Pool Brain cost?

Its pricing page prints $65 per technician and unlimited office users with free setup, but the base monthly price field is blank and the technician selector starts at 5. Worthd could not capture a total, so no Pool Brain total is printed here. The price is shown on the vendor's site.

Do pool software tools charge for pools you do not service in winter?

Skimmer says locations not serviced in a given month are not billed, and PoolTrac bills per visited location. Jobber charges for seats, so its price does not fall when pools go dormant. Skimmer's tier ranges are written as pools per month, so ask Skimmer whether a low month moves you to the $49 tier.

How much do card fees add to a pool route?

On Jobber, $6,000 a month from 40 pools paid by card at 2.9% + 30 cents is $186 in fees, against $60 by bank payment at 1%. At 140 pools ($21,000 a month) the gap is $441 a month. The $150 per pool per month is Worthd's assumption, not a vendor figure.
