Worthd cost check for locksmiths

Locksmith dispatch software cost: 1 to 8 people

Housecall Pro, Jobber, PowerDispatch, Smart Service and fieldd priced from their own pages for a locksmith shop with 1 to 8 people, plus which of the tools that market to locksmiths print no price at all.

Prices checked Nov 3 and 4, 2026Reviewed by Worthd EditorialUS dollars, cheapest published termUpdated Nov 5, 2026
The short answer

A 3-person locksmith shop pays $50 a month on PowerDispatch, $149 on Housecall Pro or Jobber, and at least $645 on Smart Service. Workiz, KeyBolt, Unlokt and Jobox print no price Worthd could read.

The cheapest printed price is PowerDispatch Basic at $50 a month billed yearly, but its terms are dated 2016, cancellation is by phone only and refunds stop after day 5. Housecall Pro and Jobber sell locksmiths the same plans as every other trade, so they cost the same at 3 and 5 people. Smart Service charges $129 per user with a 5-user minimum, so a 2-truck shop pays $645 a month or more. The tools that name locksmiths loudest, Workiz, KeyBolt and Jobox, are the ones without a readable price.

Worthd arithmetic from each vendor's pricing page, Nov 3 and 4, 2026, before card fees and tax. PowerDispatch: Basic $50 a month as printed under "Yearly pricing" covers 1 office user and up to 5 technicians; at 8 people Worthd assumes 1 office user plus 7 technicians, which needs the $19.90 a month unlimited-technicians add-on ($69.90). The page's columns are unlabelled, so plan mapping follows text order. Housecall Pro: Basic $59 (1 user), Essentials $149 (up to 5), Max $299 (up to 8), annual billing; monthly billing is $79, $189 and $329 as printed on its pricing page. Jobber: the cheapest Connect bundle (1, 5 or 10 users) from Worthd's Jobber pricing page; Grow is $50 to $80 more. fieldd: Start $199 for up to 10 users, but the page does not say whether that is the monthly or annual price. Smart Service: $129 per user a month, 5-user minimum, so 5 x $129 = $645 even for 1 to 3 people.

The cheapest option has the oldest terms

PowerDispatch

PowerDispatch Basic is $50 a month billed yearly for 1 office user and up to 5 technicians, with a 30-day free trial. Its terms of service are dated January 14, 2016. They say subscriptions renew monthly, you can cancel only by phone, not by email, refunds are given only up to the fifth day of a subscription, and reactivating within 30 days costs $50. Its homepage also mentions a "14 days cancellation fee" that its terms do not explain. Monthly-billing prices are not published. Ask for the cancellation and refund rules in writing before paying for a year.

A floor of $645 a month

Smart Service

Smart Service prices per user: "starting at $129 per user, per month, with a five-user minimum." That is $645 a month even for a 2-truck shop, $7,740 a year, or about $6,579 at the 15% annual-billing discount it lists (Worthd arithmetic). It is built to work with QuickBooks, and onboarding and data conversion are quoted separately. At 8 people it is $1,032 a month before any volume discount. It suits a larger service company already on QuickBooks, not a 1 to 3 person lockout shop.

Card fees

Emergency jobs are mostly paid by card, so the rate matters

Jobber charges 2.9% + 30 cents on cards and 1% on US bank payments. Housecall Pro prints card rates "as low as 2.59%" and 1% on bank payments, with no per-transaction amount stated. Illustration only: 40 jobs a month at $200 ($8,000) all by card is $244 on Jobber (2.9% = $232, plus 40 x 30 cents = $12), against $207.20 at 2.59% on Housecall Pro before any per-transaction fee. Bank transfer would be $80 at 1%, but a customer locked out rarely pays that way, so assume card. PowerDispatch names Authorize.net without rates; Workiz, Smart Service and fieldd print no processing rates. Ask before you compare totals. See contractor payment software fees.

Who it fits

Solo locksmith on a tight budget: PowerDispatch at $50 if you accept its terms, otherwise Housecall Pro Basic at $59. Owner plus 2 to 4 who want one app for calls, quotes and card payments: Housecall Pro Essentials or Jobber Connect at $149 for up to 5 people. 8 or more people: Jobber Connect at $229 undercuts Housecall Pro Max at $299.

Who it is wrong for

Smart Service for any shop under about 8 people, because of its $645 floor. Housecall Pro Basic for anyone with a second user: Basic is 1 user and extra users are not sold below Max. A shop that must know its Workiz cost before a sales call. Not covered: KeyBolt, Unlokt and Jobox prices, which Worthd could not read on Nov 4.

Frequently asked

Locksmith dispatch software questions

What does locksmith dispatch software cost?

From vendor pages checked Nov 3 and 4, 2026: PowerDispatch Basic $50 a month billed yearly, Housecall Pro Basic $59 for 1 user and Essentials $149 for up to 5 (annual billing), Jobber Connect $99 for 1 user and $149 for up to 5, fieldd Start $199, and Smart Service $129 per user with a 5-user minimum, so $645 a month at least. Workiz, KeyBolt, Unlokt and Jobox publish no readable price.

Which locksmith software prints a price?

Housecall Pro, Jobber, PowerDispatch, Smart Service and fieldd print prices. Workiz names locksmiths but says Request pricing on every plan. Worthd could not read KeyBolt, Unlokt or Jobox pages from its tools, so it prints no figure for them and does not use review-site numbers.

What is the cheapest dispatch software for a locksmith?

PowerDispatch Basic at $50 a month billed yearly is the lowest printed price, for 1 office user and up to 5 technicians. Its terms are dated January 14, 2016, cancellation is by phone only, and refunds end on day 5, so read them before paying for a year.

Why is Smart Service so much more than the others?

It charges $129 per user a month with a 5-user minimum, so even a 2-truck shop pays at least $645 a month ($7,740 a year), before onboarding and data conversion, and it needs QuickBooks. It lists a 15% discount for annual billing and 30% for a 3-year contract.

Do Housecall Pro and Jobber have locksmith pages?

Yes. Both have a dedicated locksmith software page, and both say no credit card is needed to start a free trial. Neither page prints plan prices; the prices are on their pricing pages, which do not name locksmiths. Their locksmith claims are vendor claims, not tested by Worthd.

How much are card fees on emergency jobs?

Jobber charges 2.9% + 30 cents per card payment and 1% on US bank payments. Housecall Pro prints card rates as low as 2.59% and 1% on bank payments. Illustration: 40 jobs at $200 ($8,000) all by card is $244 on Jobber and $207.20 on Housecall Pro before any per-transaction fee.
