Workiz: a $25 chargeback fee and renewal terms to check
What changed
Terms v1.9, dated Nov 2, 2026, specify a $25 fee per chargeback, non-refundable regardless of the outcome. This is not a general dispute fee. Unless the Sales Order says otherwise, the initial term is 12 months and renews for successive 12-month terms; written notice is required at least 30 days before the current term ends. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the terms permit an annual price increase of up to 10% on the Sales Order anniversary with 30 days’ written notice.
Why it matters
Read the Sales Order alongside the terms before planning an exit or renewal. Other payment-processing charges may apply alongside the chargeback fee.
FreshBooks shows 80% off for four monthly-billed months
What changed
The offer is for new customers choosing monthly billing. It cannot be combined with a free trial or another offer, and no free trial is included. Regular monthly prices are Lite $23, Plus $43 and Premium $70; additional team members are $11 per person a month.
Why it matters
The advertised offer lasts four months, not a full year. Check the regular subscription, team-member charges and applicable payment-processing fees when comparing quotes. FreshBooks referral action below may earn Worthd a commission.
Housecall Pro Basic is $59/month equivalent with annual billing or $79 billed monthly; Essentials is $149/$189 and MAX $299/$329 on those respective billing bases. They include one, five and eight users respectively. ServiceM8 lists $0, $29, $79, $149 and $349 monthly plans. Free allows one user and 30 new jobs a month; the paid plans include unlimited users and 50, 150, 500 or 1,500+ new jobs respectively.
Why it matters
Compare the included users and features for the selected Housecall Pro plan, and the job allowance and device requirements for ServiceM8. These are subscription prices, before optional extras, payment fees and tax; they are not an all-in operating cost.
The October “Save up to 40%” offer reached its Oct 30, 11:59 p.m. Pacific deadline (Oct 31, 2:59 a.m. Eastern) and is no longer on the pricing page. The current source still lists the regular Grow five-user bundle at $229/month equivalent, prepaid annually. Monthly billing with a one-year commitment is $259/month; the no-commitment monthly option is $299/month.
Why it matters
These prices cover Grow’s five-user bundle. Smaller teams can check the other plan and seat options in our pricing guide.
Housecall Pro prices rechecked Oct 15: no change, now behind a plan quiz
What changed
Basic $59 annual / $79 monthly, Essentials $149 / $189, MAX $299 / $329, extra users $35 a month. The pricing page now asks four questions (industry, team size, goals) before it shows plans; the prices are unchanged from Worthd's Oct 4 check.
Why it matters
Worthd's pricing page and calculator show the same numbers without the quiz.
Simple Start $38, Essentials $85 (3 users), Plus $140 (5 users), Advanced $340 (25 users) a month. The page leads with 50% off for 3 months; the list price applies after that.
Why it matters
Budget on the list price. Plus at $140 is the usual plan for a 5-tech shop that tracks job profitability.
Contractor Foreman prices rechecked Oct 15: no change
What changed
Annual billing: Basic $49 (1 user), Standard $105 (up to 3), Plus $166 (up to 8), Pro $221 (up to 15), Unlimited $332. Card payments 2.9% + 30¢; ACH 1% + 30¢ ($10 max).
Why it matters
Flat plans with a user cap are cheaper than per-seat tools at 8 users; check construction-focused features first.
Jobber's newest cost-tracking tools are on Plus, not Grow
What changed
Jobber added receipt capture (snap a receipt, Jobber fills in the expense) and supplier-invoice forwarding on Oct 6, and searchable, reusable job photos on quotes on Oct 9. Jobber marks both 'Available on the Plus plan'. For 2 to 5 people, Plus is $399 a month billed annually ($499 month to month); Grow is $229 ($299). For 11 to 15 people: Plus $529, Grow $399 (annual).
Why it matters
Wanting these features moves a 5-person crew from Grow to Plus: $2,040 a year more on annual billing. Grow still includes job costing with manual expense entry, so decide whether automatic receipt entry saves more than that.
Jobber now connects to ChatGPT (Oct 7) and Claude (Oct 8)
What changed
Owners can ask an AI assistant about their Jobber clients, jobs, quotes, invoices and schedule, and create or update clients and requests from the chat. Jobber's post does not say which plans include it.
Why it matters
Useful if you already pay for an AI assistant; no new Jobber cost is published. Check your plan before relying on it.
Jobber Bookkeeping: a done-for-you bookkeeper add-on (US)
What changed
A dedicated bookkeeper sets up, categorizes and reconciles your books and closes them within five days of month-end. Available as an add-on to all plans in the US; not for franchise or ambassador accounts. Jobber's pricing page does not list its price.
Why it matters
Compare it with paying a bookkeeper on QuickBooks or Xero; link to Worthd's QuickBooks vs Xero vs Jobber Bookkeeping page.
Early went from $25 to $27 a month, Growing from $55 to $59, Established from $90 to $97 (US, before tax and add-ons). Xero says it applies to new and existing US subscribers. Its pricing page now shows the new prices after a 3-month introductory rate.
Why it matters
A contractor on Growing pays $48 a year more. Budget renewals on the new list price, not the introductory offer, and compare with QuickBooks Online at your user count.
If your team already uses Pipedrive, compare Nova with the meeting-notes subscription you pay for separately. Check the real workflow before changing seats or cancelling anything.
GitHub Actions now provides an API for runner-version deprecation information, a read-only vulnerability-alerts permission for GITHUB_TOKEN, and four job context properties for reusable workflows. The new job properties are not available on GitHub Enterprise Server. No effective date or adoption deadline is stated.
GitHub Classroom is deprecated as of August 28, 2026. The Classroom website, APIs, and related services have been decommissioned. GitHub user accounts, repositories, and organizations created to work with Classroom are not affected, but some Classroom data will be permanently deleted under GitHub’s data-retention policies.
Check which Slack desktop versions your team uses. If any are 4.47.59 or earlier, assign an owner to test and complete an update before November 9, 2026, so an old installation does not interrupt access.
GitHub says it will deprecate Gemini 3.5 Flash, Gemini 3.6 Flash, Kimi K2.7 Code, and Claude Opus 4.7 on October 2, 2026. It suggests Gemini 3.8 Flash, Kimi K3, and Claude Opus 5 as alternatives. Business and Enterprise administrators may need to enable alternatives in Copilot model policies.
GitHub announced that MAI-Code-1-Flash will be deprecated across all GitHub Copilot experiences on September 10, 2026. The suggested alternative is MAI-Code-1.1-Flash.
Check Zendesk connections marked Legacy or Deprecated with a 1.x.x version in Zapier. Migrate affected Zaps to the current OAuth-based integration before April 30, 2027. Give infrequent workflows an earlier check: Zendesk already deactivates tokens left unused for 30 days.
The new agent can work across connected apps, local files, and long-running tasks. The useful question is whether it removes a real handoff, not whether the demo looks impressive.
